Women scientists play a crucial role in bridging science-based ecosystem management with local livelihoods and social dynamics. Since women often care for livestock but lack decision-making power, it’s essential to unpack these complex systems and make them more inclusive. We must advocate for innovations that reduce labor burdens (like solar-powered water systems) and empower women who are the primary caretakers on the ground. Our role is to make these systems work better for and with women.
