What are the potential risk of GM plants? Who produces GM plant? What are the benefits to the farmer when planting GM food?

The approved GM crops do not pose any more risk as compared to their conventionally bred counterparts. GM crops are developed by scientists, but once approved for commercial cultivation by the biosafety authorities, they are grown by farmers seeking to solve some specific challenges in crop production. Some benefits accrued include low cost of production -less pesticide use, reduced requirement for farm labour (less drudgery), increased realizable yield, drought tolerance, enhanced nutrition
