Answer

GM crops

1/Are GM crops appropriate for developing countries?

Feedback / Answer

GM crops are crops improved for traits that are significant for both the developing and developed economies. This is achieved through the transfer of genetic information (transgene) from one organism to another, in a way that would not be achieved through natural mating. The traits which so far have mainly been on insect resistance, herbicide and drought tolerance are very relevant in addressing challenges in production of crops important food, feed and processing in these countries.
