What regulations govern the importation of GM foods?
The importation of genetically modified (GM) foods is governed by regulations established by national authorities in each country. These authorities ensure that GM foods meet safety standards before being allowed into the market. In Kenya, for instance, the National Biosafety Authority (NBA) is responsible for regulating GM food importation. The NBA has developed comprehensive guidelines to ensure proper oversight.
